Thanks to Greg for passing along this video of our final show.

It’s been a great ride. We appreciate all the support over the years. Good bye everyone… for now.

We’re working on a new song called “Better Left Unsaid”.  We decided to flip open the old imovie during rehearsal to give you guys a sneak peak.  Hope you enjoy!

    One More Down…

    Posted in: Shows

This is about two weeks too late, but thanks to everyone who came out for the August 12 show at Velvet Lounge. We know it’s been a while (our first gig in almost a year), but we’re officially back from hiatus now and ready to get to work this fall…so long as no more of us get married by the end of the year.

Also, special thanks to Nestor Diaz at Velvet Lounge for his always excellent sound skills. And Butchers & Bakers and Mooks for putting together two great sets to start the night off.

Long time followers may have noticed we have’t had the same drummer for a few shows now. So thanks to Jehiah Cun for exercising his mercenary skills at the show, filling in for us in a jam and generally rocking out in ways we never imagined. Cheers, Jehiah.

Well, it’s been a little while since we played a show, eh? Bill got married (damn), Brian had to have surgery (damn), Andrew was working & in school (damn), & Danny had to get with Andrew’s mom (wait… what?).

We’re back in action now though. We’ll be kicking things off with a gig at the trusty old Velvet Lounge on August 12th. We’ve got some new songs and will be ready to put on a fun show.  So, come hang out with us!

We had a gig lined up with Push Method this past June but had to cancel because of Brian’s surgery.  Looks like it didn’t hurt them too badly though, haha.  This NYC band is on top of their game and has been doing some great stuff recently.  Checkout their killer new video.

Regardless of what feelings you may have for pitchfork, you should checkout their year in reviews site. It’s got a pretty slick interface for finding some new tunes and it gives you a nice idea of their average given rating.

Can you guess who got the worst album review this year… drum rolll… Ghostland Observatory. Ouch. We didn’t think these guys were so bad, and they can throw a hell of a party. None of us have listened to the GO album they reviewed this year, but we’d be surprised if it’s only worth a 1.5, haha.

But I digress… you should check Pitchfork’s year in reviews and start your own conversation about how wrong (or right) their ratings are. Here’s your link:

Just two more days ’til the show, and we wanted to make sure everyone gets a heads up on the band that will be playing with us on Friday: Hiding Places. We really like them.

Also, if anyone’s wondering “where exactly is this Level X Lounge anyway,” it’s right above Axum Ethiopian Restaurant (two doors down from DC9 and just a couple blocks away from the U Street metro stop).

Here’s a sneak preview of what you can expect from these great sounding locals:

Hopefully everyone knows that we’ll be DJ’ing the dance party after our set next Friday night at Level X Lounge. Well, how exactly might we be pulling this off? Aspiring amateur DJ’s looking for a low overhead solution should check out Virtual DJ. We certainly will.

Which reminds us. If anyone has any specific requests, send us some comments here or on Facebook. We’ll be sure to put your songs into the DJ set list.

It’s been a quiet two weeks, but we’ve been locking in the details for our new show and it’s time to share them with everyone. So here it goes. Come see us play at Level X Lounge on Friday night, November 12. Hiding Places will be joining us, and things are shaping up to be a great show.

For those who haven’t heard of it (including ourselves), Level X is a BRAND NEW lounge located just a few steps from DC9 near 9th and U NW.

Oh, and did we mention that we’ll be DJ’ing the dance party at Level X after the show? Yeah, that’s right. So be sure to stick around after our set.

I think everyone in the DC music scene was shocked to hear about this morning’s news. Honestly, we’re speechless ourselves. Suffice it to say that our show next week is cancelled.

We’ll keep everyone posted on possible rescheduling. Our thoughts go out to everyone involved.
